Job description: Assay Development Scientist

Project management of internal, and external, cell-based assay development and discovery projects.

To provide expertise in competency of cell-based assay development and analysis, propose experimental strategies, troubleshoot problems, and to make significant contribution to the practical delivery of projects in-house and in collaborations with customers.

Technical and scientific expertise to support the sales and marketing efforts i.e. contribute to key customer visits, customer evaluations, key seminars and conferences.

To support development organization with practical expertise, and hands on testing and validation of prototypes and early-stage technologies.

Desirable skills

• Expertise in assay design (cell-based a must)
• Expertise in image-based assays (high-content analysis)
• Expertise in data analysis and conversion of screening data to biological parameters
• Practical understanding of assay optimisation, including statistical knowledge, to enable generation of robust, reproducible, and sensitive assays
• Experience in cellular transfection technology • Experience in working in high-throughput formats
• Solid practical and problem-solving skills to plan and perform experiments, and to analyze and report experimental data

Minimum requirements

Ph.D degree in a relevant scientific discipline or a M.Sc degree with relevant experience in drug discovery or early development. Will possess a solid understanding of the principles and concepts associated with own subject/specialist area and expertise in the relevant science and literature. Will be able to independently perform laboratory experiments to the required standard on a consistent basis. Will have thorough understanding of a range of procedures, laboratory equipment, and systems relating to the work unit. Will have the ability and proven experience from independent assay execution and data handling.

Job description: Product Manager


Position objective:

Manages all aspects of marketing programs for specified Cellectricon technologies (Cellaxess ACE, Cellaxess Elektra & Dynaflow Resolve). Designs, develops, and executes project strategies, pricing strategies and works with marketing to direct advertising and promotional activities. Includes market, customer and competitor research and pricing.

Identifies, manages and delivers product development guidance, customer & market requirements, product specifications, reimbursement and pricing. Also monitors and prepares competitive analysis and provides marketing support, including marketing analysis, planning and project management including budget control.

Essential functions:

• Accountable for developing, implementing and managing the product portfolio by writing and implementing product marketing plans including target specifications, price sensitivity analysis etc. Providing data related to competitors, the market, market and customer segmentation, product positioning, revenue and unit forecasting and pricing strategies.

• Responsible for maintaining knowledge of the trends and competitive activity relevant to the product and market dynamics.

• Responsible for implementing corrective actions where required.

• Map out product line extensions and recommend technology licensing, co-marketing and/or co-promotion relationships that are well positioned to drive successful adoption and performance of the products.

• Provide recommendations regarding the commercial applications of products.

• Responsible for identifying and developing effective promotional and sales tools and collateral marketing pieces, including technical application notes with development colleagues. Coordinate marketing communications activities and plans.

• Actively participate with internal departments by providing marketing input on potential new products or product enhancements.

• May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Nature and scope:

This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel requiring the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing Cellectricon’s technology, product development and marketing plans. Effectiveness in this role requires a general knowledge of those operating plans as well as industry practices for developing, promoting and selling similar life science products. Ensures compliance with Cellectricon’s Quality Manual and Procedures. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others and conduct presentations of scientific, technical and market related information. May provide general guidance to other employees.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline, or the equivalent education and experience are required.

Experience:

Two to five years experience in a similar product management or marketing role. Sales experience is a plus. Strong communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills necessary. Business development skills and cross-functional team leadership experience preferred. Proven ability to see new business opportunities, set and meet aggressive objectives and develop strong internal and external working relationships also preferred.

Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Frequent travel may be required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May have to travel up to 40% of the time.
